Music Ministries
.
The Music Ministry of the Mt. Carmel Church Family is diverse and multifacted. The ministry exist to praise God and meet the needs of the people it serves. This is accomplished through various kinds of instrumental music and singing. The church has a long history of proficiency in gospel-styled singing. Contemporary, Negro and American spirituals, praise, sacred, and occasionally  classical, musical presentations through soloists, duets, chorale, choirs, and quartet are enjoyed by members and guests on a scheduled basis.

Our church and district, which includes our sister church, Bethuel Seventh-Day Adventist Church, located at 25 N. Queen Street, Dover, DE 19904, are blest of God with abundance of singing and instrumental talent, including a contracted outstanding musician, Rosalie Kelly of Felton, DE, at Mt. Carmel, and Carlos Holmes at Bethuel in Dover. Services are often assisted by instrumental music from piano, organ, guitar, and occasionally, drums and cymbals.

Special musical selections or offerings are scheduled regularly as important features of the weekly Divine Worship Service. This musical offering to God and for the benefit of worshipers, is presented by soloists, through duets, trios, quartets, praise teams, chorale, and choirs. The formal services on Sabbath are led primarily by choirs, which include Chancel, Perfect Praise Chorale, Men's Choir, Sanctuary Choir, and periodically, a Women's or Children's Choir.

Additionally, our church and this department or ministry of it, is blest to experience the offerings of the Sermonettes, a quartet styled group, founded and headed by Elder William L. Parker of Harrington, DE. The Sermonettes is rotated to serve the church as are the choirs of the church. The Sermonettes travel and sing often in Adventist and non-Adventist churches throughout Delaware and adjoining states.

All the major gatherings of the church are blest with music in some form from the Music Ministry of the church, including Sabbath School Programs, AYS or Adventist Youth Services, and sometimes during weekly prayer services on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m., though most of the musical features of prayer services consist of beautiful acapella singing by the congregation.

Scheduled special events such as the recent concert by Ms. Kim Washington of New Jersey, are what we consider extra icing, as it were, on an already delicious cake, or more sucinctly, an already blest musical menu.
